Hamzah Academy is an Islamic elementary school which is committed to providing a dual learning program of excellence in secular and Islamic Studies. Our curriculum is exciting; innovative; stimulating; cutting-edge; different and blends our traditional 'Islamic school' education with unusual challenges designed to stretch even the most able young person.
Your child will learn core subjects and develop fundamental skills. Both English and Arabic language skills are taught from our Pre-K Toddler Program to
fifth grade through spelling, writing, and reading. Each class is equipped with adequate reading material for the library, which enhances their literacy
and articulation.
Our teachers observe the progress of your child and mold their teaching appropriate to his/her learning style and progress. Mathematics
is also taught in this manner. Beginning with basic numbers arithmetic and moving on to geometry and basic algebra, your child's experience of learning
math in Hamzah Academy will build upon itself. Science is generally taught to the entire class and this includes experiments and allowing the child to
discover/explore the world around them through observation and recording data.
Furthermore, our uniqueness also lies in the fact that we teach Arabic
from a very early age as well as Quran and Islamic Studies. Hamzah Academy students learn to perform salah on a daily basis and the also become
acquainted with Muslim traditions and practices. That includes subconscious actions from reciting dua whilst eating to the acts of giving charity.
Additionally, your child will have regularly scheduled physical education and art classes, rounding out his/her academic experience.
We teach the basics thoroughly along with a wide range of skill based activities to seek to broaden the mind and develop natural inquisitiveness.
Enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff from the Pre-K Toddler Programme to the second grade, provide the majority of the teaching with additional classroom
input with ‘teaching centers.’ Hamzah staff work constantly to improve upon their teaching knowledge and skills and utilize ‘teaching centers’ for most of the
core subjects. School assembly is performed usually each Friday as we observe Youm al Juma’a as a Muslim holy day. The students will also have an opportunity
to explore the world around them by going to field trips. The teachers and administration make sure that the selection of the field trip is appropriate with
or corresponds with their studies.
