Uzma Baig holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with an emphasis on Childhood Development and Education from the University of Houston and is currently enrolling in a Master of Early Childhood Education.
Her teaching career began during her high school years when she volunteered as a second grade teacher’s aide. After three years as an aide, she began working at the Al-Hadi School of Accelerative Learning in Houston while pursuing her degree. Uzma then progressed on as a third grade home room teacher at the same school. During her three years at Al-Hadi School, she was proactive in creating a supportive, creative and interactive classroom environment for her students. All three of her third grade batches over consecutive years earned exceptional grades in state standardized tests. In addition to her teaching experience, Uzma also accumulated numerous hours of teacher training and staff development courses to enhance her skills.
Uzma Baig has had the opportunity of being exposed to many different cultures as she has resided in four different countries. She has a strong belief in Islamic values and is a strong supporter of establishing an Islamic environment for children so that they may learn what it means to be a Muslim and how to apply Islam in their daily lives.
